More than 5 years after Novenco B.V. started the design work with the consultant, Novenco was awarded the contract for the design, supply and installation of a car park ventilation system for the new Whitecity Development in London , currently the biggest retail development and the second biggest construction site in Europe .This contract is the biggest single car park ventilation contract in the history of Novenco.
The impressive new 40 acre site developed by Westfield Plc and build by Multiplex UK Ltd. includes new shopping, leisure and transport facilities. It is situated just outside the city centre next to the M41 motorway and opposite the BBC Television Studios at White City.
Once ready the site will accommodate some 200 stores including large retailers such as Marks & Spencers and House of Fraser. In addition to the stores, the site will include 12 external eating outlets and food court and two multi screen cinemas.
In order to make the site attractive to the public a new junction of the M41 will be constructed including two underground and one bus station. The basement of the building accommodates a three level underground car park with a capacity of in excess of 4,000 cars.
Novenco has been awarded a 'design & build' contract for a 'turn key' car park ventilation solution for the basement car park as well as two internal loading bay areas. The current car park ventilation design includes some 270 AUO/R-380 jet fan units, 35 AUO-500 jet fan units, 25 high temperature, reversible extract fans in sizes between 1,250 and 1,600 mm, all associated controls such as motor control centres and a sophisticated addressable CO monitoring system.
Novenco will also provide all associated field wiring which will be in excess of 50 km of cabling and cable trays.
According to the programme of works, Novenco will reach completion in October 2007.
