Through close cooperation with Novenco in Singapore, Novenco’s Offshore division in Oslo, Norway has secured another large order from Keppel FELS Ltd in Singapore.
HVAC systems to floatel
The latest contract is for delivering the HVAC systems to a FLOATEL, which includes an accommodation module with capacity for 440 men in single bed cabins, as well as recreation and office facilities.
The floatel will be delivered from Keppel to Floatel International in the second quarter of 2010, and will be built to meet the most stringent rules and regulations for worldwide operation including the Norwegian North Sea sector.
The floatel will be used for construction support during new construction, maintenance activities or for decommissioning projects of offshore oil and gas installations.
First to be equipped with DP3
In addition to an eight point mooring system, the floatel will be the first to be equipped with DP3 (Dynamic Positioning 3) capabilities, resulting in a safer, environmentally friendly, and more optimal and reliable unit.
The new floatel will be the industry's first in the North Sea in more than 20 years.
Scope of supply
Novenco’s scope of work is a complete HVAC turnkey contract, from detail design to final commissioning.
Equipment supply includes air handling units, self contained units, fan coil units, cabin units, cooling equipment, provisional stores cooling, kitchen hoods ductwork, attenuators etc.
A kick off meeting was held in Singapore in week 46 and the first equipment will be delivered to site late 2008.
