Water mist system on bulk carriers

Novenco Fire Fighting has secured an order for 8 ship sets of water mist total protection systems for Odense Shipyard in Denmark. The systems are going to be installed on the 8 cape size bulk carriers for a Greek owner. The bulk carriers are going to be built at Odense Shipyard during the next 3 years.

In competition with CO2and foam systems, owner and yard decided on the environmentally and crew friendly water mist solution. A total of more than 10,000 m³ of machinery space are going to be protected.

The water mist total protection system is harmless to crew and can be activated immediately when fire starts using fresh water. With sea water back-up, the system does not have any limitations in operating time.

Furthermore, the water mist total protection system is combined with our local protection system which makes the complete system very competitive.
