Environmental award to Novenco

On 28 October 2009 Novenco in Denmark received the Environmental Award 2009 from the Agenda 21 Committee in Naestved Municipality.

Once a year, the Committee rewards an initiative that promotes green lifestyle and sustainable development.

The reason for giving the Environmental Award to Novenco is:
“Long before it became "modern" to have a green profile, Novenco A/S has worked determinedly to reduce their energy consumption as much as possible.
Actually, it is more than ten years ago the company started its first big energy-saving project. Since then millions have been saved – both with regard to money and kWh. And more savings will be made in the future.

In just three years, Novenco has reduced their electricity consumption in the production areas by 7 % and the heat consumption by 8 %. That corresponds to a CO2-saving of almost 700 tons!

This impressive result is not only a benefit for the environment and Novenco’s competitiveness, but has also led to a better working environment for the employees of the company.”

Quality- & Environmental Manager Britta Olsson accepted the award on behalf of Novenco. She was delighted after the award ceremony: ”We have been working with energy-saving projects for a long time now and it is nice to suddenly get an official recognition.”
